Brian rode the D-36 Shasta GP on 4/18, here is the firsthand report:

So I finished my second race of the year. The 2010 Shasta GP. What a Great race! Huge climbs, fast single track and tons of carnage! Just the kind of racing I like.

I did get off to a bad start, (need to work on my starts!) and got caught up in a major dust cloud. Zero Visibility. Missed going into a ditch with 10 other racers by inches. After pounding up a serious climb and wading through a major bottle neck on a long downhill single track I started to get on my pace.

Start mayhem!


About three quarters of the way through the first lap, down some tight single track with a slowpoke in front of me, I found a guy halfway down a ravine with his bike upside down. I knew I wasn’t winning any race by this time and decided to help a bro out and get his bike back up and get back to racing. Ten minutes later and 12 guys passing me, we got him out of the ravine and back on his bike.

By this time, I wasn’t sure I was even going to get a second lap in! Hammered through to the check in and they sent me back on my way. SWEET!!

Now the trail was clear and I was able to get on the throttle! Made it through my second lap with no incidence and shaved over 20 minutes off my lap time.

I’d like to thank the Redding Dirt Riders for putting on a great race! Can’t wait to do it again next year!
